Stages of Learning

Learning is a continuous process that involves various stages.

Unconscious Incompetence

At this stage, a person doesn't know what they don't know. They lack the skills and knowledge required to perform a task, but they are not aware of this fact.

Conscious incompetence

At this stage, a person becomes aware of their lack of skills and knowledge. They realize that they don't know how to perform a task, but they are willing to learn.

Conscious Competence

At this stage, a person has acquired the skills and knowledge required to perform a task, but they need to focus and concentrate on the task at hand to do it correctly. The person may need to use reference materials, take their time, and practice to perform the task successfully.

Unconscious Competence

At this stage, a person has acquired the skills and knowledge to perform a task effortlessly and automatically. They have mastered the task and can perform it without thinking about it consciously.
